Amit Agrawal is the CEO of the UIDAI.

The government of India has extended Amit Agrawal's tenure as CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) till November 2, 2024.

He took over as CEO of UIDAI on June 19, following the retirement of Saurabh Garg.

Amit Agrawal is a 1993 batch IAS officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre and an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IT) Kanpur. He is well-known for his expertise in IT and e-governance.

Before joining UIDAI, he worked as an additional secretary in the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Agrawal has been appointed to numerous key positions at the Centre as well as in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

He formerly served as the Union Ministry of Finance's additional secretary and joint secretary.
