The poll timetable for the 2018 Legislative Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram has been issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Madhya Pradesh will elect 230 members, Rajasthan will elect 200, Telangana will elect 119, Chhattisgarh will elect 90, and Mizoram will elect 40.
In a news conference, ECI Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar provided a brief overview of voters. He stated that approximately 16 crore electors will vote in the poll-bound states, accounting for one-sixth of the total voters in the country.
According to the senior official, polls in these election-bound states have a special significance before the National Elections in 2024.
