The Ministry of Railways requested that certain zones implement discounted ticket programmes in AC chair cars with seating that had less than 50% occupancy in the previous 30 days.

The programme, according to a statement from the railway ministry, aims to maximise the use of accommodations in trains.

The discounted fare policy will go into effect right away. However, those who have already purchased tickets won't get a refund.

Only the Executive AC and AC Chair Car classes of all trains with seating accommodations are subject to this programme. This also applies to the coaches from Anubhuti and Vistadome.

On the base fare, there will be a maximum reduction of 25%. GST, Super Fast Surcharge, and other fees will be assessed separately.
